Return and Exchange instructions

By phone or fax you may pay by MasterCard, Visa, or Discover. If ordering by mail you may pay by credit card or by check or money order. Credit cards are charged at the time of shipment except in special situations described below. Lay-a-way payment plans are available also.

We cannot accept checks or money orders in currencies other than US dollars. (In this respect the US banking system is very much behind the rest of the world) Credit cards are the best method of payment. It is easy for us and the customer gets the best possible exchange rate. If credit card payment is not an option we can take bank drafts or money orders payable in US Dollars. Taxes and tariffs may be due upon receipt. Each country has it's own rules. Taxes and tariffs are the responsibility of you, the recipient.

Prices shown are for sterling silver and 14K gold. White or Rose 14K gold are available at the same price as 14K yellow gold. To calculate 18K price multiply 14K price x 1.25. Platinum = call for pricing. Prices are subject to change.

Standard insured shipping in the US is $7.40. This is for US Postal Service Priority Mail to all 50 states. Second day Federal Express is available in the continental US. Express services to Alaska and Hawaii are expensive by Federal Express. For those destinations we recommend Express Mail by the US Post Office.

Foreign orders are most economically shipped through the post office, but not all counties can be insured. . Taxes and tariffs may need to be paid as well.

Most orders are shipped within a week of order and payment. Designs from jewelers in Scotland are kept in stock as far as possible but there are sometimes delays if we run out of a particular item. Items produced in our own shop in rose gold, white gold, platinum or golds other than 14K may take up to 3 weeks.

The correct size is the smallest size you can comfortably get on and off your finger. We make all the rings here so it is no problem to make half or quarter sizes. Our designs are cast to size to size may be made or the rings can be exchanged for correct size if needed. FREE SIZING WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.

With regrets Walker Metalsmiths is not in the business of making jewelry to customers’ designs nor do we do create special designs for one-of-a-kind occasions. We would like too but these types of projects take so much time that our craftsmen would never get anything else done. We do however often make our regular designs in other materials than are shown in the catalog. We also can make pins into pendants etc. If we special order materials or make a particular piece differently than we advertise it, i.e. platinum, gold alloys other than 14K or requiring special order stones we will charge 50% of the total cost before the work begins and the balance at shipment.

For security reasons Walker Metalsmiths reserves the right to insist on the following conditions on large expense orders, especially diamonds and other precious stones or platinum. Please do not take offense at these policies. These are in reaction to increased use of stolen or fraudulent credit card numbers and checks.

For credit card orders the shipment address must match the billing address that the credit card statement is mailed to. We can and do check this detail.

Orders paid by personal checks will be held 15 working days, to give the check time to clear the bank. If you are in a hurry please send a money order or a cashier’s check.

Orders valued over $500 will be shipped by United States Post Office Registered Mail.

We reserve the right to decline shipment of orders outside the United States and US possessions.

Most stone set rings and all platinum rings are made to order. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks when ordering these rings. If the order is paid by credit card Walker Metalsmiths will charge 50% of the total when the order is placed and the remainder when the items are shipped.
